Erin’s warm personality and supportive approach when teaching yoga has been a comfort to me – so has connecting with others who can relate to my experience with Lyme. What I didn’t anticipate is how good it would feel to move and connect with my body again. I feel stronger and have started doing poses at home to help with pain. I highly recommend this yoga class. Thanks Erin, you have inspired me.
This 8-week specialty class is for people living with Lyme disease and their caregivers. The focus of the class is on therapeutic movement, detoxification, and relaxation.
The class is open to caregivers accompanying their loved one at no additional cost. I recognize that many people living with Lyme disease can no longer drive and may be dependent on family or friends for transportation to and from class. I also recognize the immense challenges of being a caregiver to a person with Lyme disease. My hope is that caregivers also experience the benefits of a gentle yoga practice.

About your teacher: I became symptomatic with Lyme disease in 1999, and diagnosed with chronic Lyme and co-infections in 2010. In the intervening years I relied on yoga to manage my unexplained symptoms and resultant anxiety and depression. In 2009-2010 I trained as a yoga teacher, and I’ve been teaching ever since. The focus of my teaching has always been on working with people with chronic illness, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue. In 2018 I trained with Yoga Thrive, which is a research-based, therapeutic yoga program for cancer survivors and their caregivers. While Yoga Thrive is intended for cancer survivors, it’s clear to me that the applications of this training are much broader and can be of great benefit to the Lyme disease community. This 8-week session, “Yoga for Lyme Disease”, derives from my personal experience of using yoga to recover from Lyme disease and my Yoga Thrive training.
